Just wanted to show you all my sweet birthday shoes! They are awesome! I ordered them and they just came in today. Meisha and I already went for a run/walk and they are really cool. Thanks again everyone for pitching in. If you'd like to know a little more about the shoes and why they're so cool,
CLICK HERE. Make sure to click the link that talks about humans running down antelope. Very cool. If you don't feel like reading the whole post, but you're curious about running down antelope,

Poor Antelope! When I first read "running down antelope", I thought you meant they actually ran down their backs with those shoes! I think you should try that! Er...on second thought, that could be dangerous, so don't do it! But I am glad you got your shoes and I think they are AMAZING! I wanna see you run in them! :)
ReplyDeleteOk, so I just read the blog link about the shoes...and now I really want a pair! I have yet to find a pair of shoes that are comfortable to me because my heel always rubs against the back and gets blisters. As a result, I go barefoot when ever possible, and when forced to wear shoes because I'm in public, I usually wear flip-flops. I even wore flip-flops through every winter in high school as well as a number of prom dances. I also hate shoes because of the feeling of confinement on my feet, do your feet feel confined in those shoes? Is the material against your heel hard or flexible? Looking at the other blog, my feet much more resemble the "non-shoe-wearing" feet they showed. Hmmmm..... What do you think Josh? Would those shoes be a good fit for my feet? You appear to be the expert on the subject.
ReplyDeletep.s. Sorry for the essay about my feet! I totally understand if you got bored halfway through and never finished! :)
VERY COOL SHOES!!!! The cows enjoyed running/ walking with us, too! We out ran them :D
ReplyDeleteThe Antelope clip was sad at the end, but at least respectful!
I am curious what Josh's answers will be to your feet/shoes questions! He has done a lot more research than I have on these shoes. I would suggest going to either the Orem or Sandy stores and at least trying them on.

Random info: Darkly was very jealous of the shoes!!! It was because I was taking pics of them instead of paying attention to her. Her shadow is in the last pic.
Or she was jealous of Josh's feet in the shoes! She's always interested in meeting new shoes and probably couldn't wait to cuddle with them and stick her head inside! lol.
ReplyDeleteSavannah- From what I know about the shoes, they would probably be really good for you. They are design to be the closest feeling to going barefoot as possible, while still giving support and strengthening your feet, so if you're always going barefoot or in flip flops, they'll probably be a good alternative. Also, because your foot doesn't have to rely on shoes for arch support, etc, the ligaments, tendons, muscles, etc. will strengthen.
ReplyDeleteIf you have an issue with feeling confinement, I wouldn't suggest the pair I got, They are the snuggest (is that a word?) fitting thing I've ever had on my foot. They basically feel like wearing toe socks with rubber soles on the bottom. I would suggest trying the "Classic" model. They are the ones with no straps and look more like a slipper. They will feel a lot more open. And the material on the heel is soft and flexible, so I think you'd be ok there. However, because the shoes fit so tightly, they do rub a little on the Achilles tendon above the heel.
Like Meisha said, the best thing to do would be to actually just try them on. When you do, make sure you walk around quite a bit in them. I didn't want to take much of the salesperson's time so I was quick. Luckily, I had to order my shoes and it gave me time learn a little more about the fit. I ended up getting a smaller pair than I ordered. The first ones would have been too big.
Also, keep in mind that if you get the shoes, there is a bit of a painful adjustment period as your foot starts to "re-learn" it's posture and your toes separate back to their natural position. And I don't mind reading your essay about your feet as long as you don't mind reading my essay about the shoes =)
Meisha- I think we definitely need to start running with the cows more. Maybe next time, we'll let them out so they can run the trail with us =}
Sara- I'm sure Darkly is in for hours of fun just trying to figure out how the heck to get her head in the shoes. :P
